To celebrate the Birthday of Padmasambhava (Guru Rinpoche) and to welcome the Ghost Festival (Zhongyuan), Yanshan Leizang Temple held, on the afternoons of 6 and 7 August 2011, the Padmasambhava Great Water Offering Ceremony for Pacifying Disasters, Praying for Blessings and Deliverance of the Dead, as well as the Ksitigarbha Esoteric Dharma Deliverance Ceremony. The ceremonies were presided over by Vajra Master Lian Wang, with Master Lian Tong from Melbourne and Masters Lian An, Lian Ding, and Lian Shen leading the chanting, supported by over a hundred fellow practitioners and devotees. Under the blessings of the Root Guru and the illumination of the Buddha's light, both ceremonies were auspicious, complete, solemn, and magnificent throughout.

嚴山雷藏寺慶祝蓮華生大士聖誕及迎接中元節，於二〇一一年八月六日、七日的下午分別舉行蓮華生大士息災祈福超度水供大法會以及地藏救度密法超度法會。由釋蓮旺金剛上師主壇，來自墨爾本的蓮桐法師及蓮銨、蓮定、蓮身法師團帶領唱頌，以及過百位同門善信大德護持，在根本上師的加持及佛光的照注下全程吉祥圓滿、莊嚴而隆重。

In his Dharma talk on the first day, Master Lian Wang noted that Esoteric Buddhism emphasises direct realisation and experiential proof. Unlike philosophy, it generates the power of the mind — and learning to make the mind one-pointed is a foundational practice for beginners. Only after mastering "stillness" (止) can mental power arise. The breath and one's thoughts are precious beyond measure, and through their proper cultivation, one can transcend birth and death. Furthermore, practitioners must diligently cultivate so that when adverse conditions arise, they can resolve them with equanimity — unlike ordinary people who respond with grief or anger. Quoting the Grand Master's teachings, Master Lian Wang mentioned that the basic conditions for being reborn in a Buddha Land are "one-pointed, undistracted mind" and "merit and virtue, Bodhisattva conduct." He encouraged everyone not to squander their time, to cherish their Dharma affinity, and to practise sincerely.

蓮旺上師在首日的開示中表示，密教注重實證，與哲學不同的是它會有心的力量產生出來，要讓心念專一，是初學者的必修功課，學會「止」後才會有念力產生。呼吸和念頭都是很寶貴的東西，甚至可以讓人了生脫死。此外，行者要精進實修，才能在逆緣產生時能達觀地化解掉，有別於凡人的哀怒反應。上師引用師尊的開示提到往生佛國的基本條件為「一心不亂」及「福德力、菩薩行」，並勉勵大家不要虛渡時光、珍惜佛緣、好好修行。

In his Dharma talk on the second day, during the Ksitigarbha Esoteric Dharma Deliverance Ceremony, Master Lian Wang said that we should learn from Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva's spirit of filial piety and cultivate a heart of gratitude toward our parents. Many of the karmic transgressions committed by parents arise from protecting and caring for their children — even competing with others for power or wealth on their children's behalf. Therefore, as children, we should regularly recite sutras and mantras and dedicate the merit to our parents.

在第二天的地藏救度密法超度法會開示中，蓮旺上師表示我們要學習地藏王菩薩孝順的精神，對父母要有感恩的心；父母親的很多罪業是因為保護或照顧孩子而犯下的，為了孩子甚至要跟別人爭權、爭財，所以作為子女的要常為父母親念經持咒迴向。

Master Lian Wang also noted that the key to deliverance lies in the deceased having a peaceful mind. Those who harbour resentment in their hearts will miss the opportunity to be delivered. A mind tainted by the three poisons will fall into the three lower realms — even if one is the victim, one must not harbour thoughts of revenge. We must learn to open our hearts and maintain inner purity, and not let momentary unhappiness sever the opportunity to elevate our own state of being. The Master closed with words often said by the Grand Master: "Live each day joyfully; live each day with gratitude; live each day in practice."

另外上師提到超度的重點在於亡者的心要平和，心懷怨恨時會錯失被超度的機會；如果有三毒的心是會下三惡道的，雖然是受害者也不要有報復的心，要學習打開自己的心，保持內心的清靜，不要為了一時一世的不愉快而斷送提升自己境界的機會。最後上師以師尊常說的話勉勵大家：「活一天、快樂一天，活一天、感恩一天，活一天、修行一天。」

After the ceremony concluded, a red sunset and rainbow appeared in the sky, while dark clouds gathered on the other side; shortly after, some fellow practitioners also witnessed lightning. These were the auspicious signs of the deliverance ceremony, drawing a perfect close to the two days of Dharma gatherings.

當天法會結束後在天空出現紅色晚霞及彩虹，另一頭則是黑雲密佈，稍後亦有同門看見閃電，是為超度法會的殊勝瑞相，也為這兩天的法會畫下完美的句點。
